Homeless to Harvard
This movie was very inspirational. I felt like I could connect to Liz in many ways. I went through similar things (without the homelessness but the parent drug addictions) and its very hard to get through stuff like that. Most people result in drugs or can't be strong enough to deal with everything and take their own lives. She had it way worse than I did and she found the strength within herself to become a better person which is the positive way to look at things. My favorite thing about the movie was that she never gave up on loving her mom, Liz always saw the better in her even when she was drugged up. Liz had so much faith that her mother would change and get better but its hard when someone is so caught up in addiction. I always had so much faith that things would go back to the way they were before and it was just something we would deal with for about a month maximum and eventually I gave up. I figured I couldn't help anyone who didn't want to be helped.I know that if I were her I would have been able to resilient because I've dealt with similar things and never let that hold me back from waking up with a smile on my face. It taught me to be a stronger person.

I totally agree with you on how she never gave up loving her mother, despite her bad actions. Also, in some cases, you probably can connect to Liz, speaking primarily about the drug addictions. Things may look bad in the beginning, but always remember things will turn out better, just like things did for Liz. Even though she lost both of her parents due to drugs, she was able to pick herself up from living on the streets to living in Harvard's dorms. Become the stronger person and be true to yourself. Great job!
ReplyDeleteI think it's great that you can connect so well with Liz. It's great that the both of you came out strong and they never held you back from anything.
ReplyDeleteThat's good that you don't let it get you down. You still have the motivation to make it into a good college.
ReplyDeleteI like what you said about Liz loving her mom. I think the way Liz loved and cared her mother even after everything she put her through showed how strong of a person she was.
ReplyDeletei liked the fact about how even though lized loved her mom that didnt ket her stop her from doing what she wanted.
